A Simple Plan for Healing Our Lives, World, & Economy ...

HELP US GAIN 100,000 SIGNATURES for our UN Resolution petition!  Spread our website, science, and Petition with everyone, and Mind Body organizations worldwide ... and when we get to 100,000 signatures, we will begin petitioning UN Missions worldwide to support this globally transforming UN Resolution for Mind Body Education in Public Education.

You can sign our Petition to the United Nations General Assembly in support of our Mind Body Education in Public Education. Contact the Founder, William Douglas, with questions. Click for international media coverage of The Global Transformation Project. When we get 100,000 Mind Body Education supporters from around the world to SIGN OUR PETITION, we will begin approaching UN Missions worldwide requesting they co-sponsor this Resolution. [REMEMBER, the UN Resolution for an International Day of Yoga, passed with a record number of co-sponsoring nations ... the world is READY for this. Spread this page/petition wide & far.]

The Global Transformation Project (GTP) is a simple elegant plan that would save TRILLIONS in future health & social costs--supported by a growing coalition of Scientists, and Health & Education Professionals worldwide (scroll down).

What is it? An elegant science-based plan for the future! It is way past time for science-based Mind Body Education (Yoga, Meditation, Mindfulness, Tai Chi, and Chi Kung) to be part of Public Education worldwide. Backed by SCIENTISTS, EDUCATION & HEALTH PROFESSIONALS, and citizens worldwide ... not only taking student performance to a new paradigm, but also reducing teacher burn out a key to successful Public Education.

YOU CAN BECOME A HEALING PART OF HISTORY by signing our Petition to the United Nations General Assembly in support of our Mind Body Education in Public Education UN Resolution. (Your information will never be shared/sold. UN Missions receiving our Petition will only see your name and country, NOT your email address). Click to see draft of Resolution.

HOWEVER, THE "MOST IMPORTANT THING" you can do to support this effort ... is to share this mission widely. The more signatures we have, the more soul force we have behind our appeal to UN Missions worldwide--and there is a precedent for this; the UN set a record for co-sponsoring nations for a Resolution by passing the International Day of Yoga in 2014 with 177 sponsoring nations.

We are building a global coalition of people who want a better society and planet to help us advocate for a United Nations Resolution calling for SCIENCE-BASED Mind Body Education (Yoga, Meditation, Tai Chi, Chi Kung, Mindfulness) to become part of Public Education worldwide. It would not be mandated for any nation, any school, or any student--students who opt out could have a "study hall" hour each day instead. GTP'S UN Resolution would be a vehicle to educate educators worldwide on science that would lift education to a whole new level ... but, this concerns YOU, not just students.

Again, there is a United Nations precedent for this. In 2014 the United Nations General Assembly approved a UN Resolution creating the "International Day of Yoga," a total of 177 nations co-sponsored the resolution, which is the highest number of co-sponsors ever for any UNGA resolution of such nature. And in past years government bodies worldwide, including 22 USA Governors, officially proclaimed World Tai Chi Day for their states and nations.

WELL, I'M NOT A SCHOOL STUDENT, WHY SHOULD I CARE?  Because you/society are paying TRILLIONS of unnecessary dollars, euros, etc. on healthcare, police, prisons, etc. that could be avoided. THE SCIENCE IS IN ON THIS--it's just that most are unaware of it.  Plus, in an age of Pandemic, 100s of millions of students worldwide who could have STRONGER IMMUNITY to virus's could help avert future global health related disruptions like the one we all just experienced that resulted in 500,000,000 small businesses being crushed (scroll down for below science on COVID, T Cells, Helper T Cells and CD4 Cells, and Mind Body impact).

Science reveals that prisons, schools, or cities who incorporate Mind Body Education see reduced violence and violent crime--not by a little, by a LOT! Science also reveals that 60% to 90% of illnesses sending people to doctors are caused by stress, and best treated or prevented by Mind Body Education (Yoga, Tai Chi, Meditation, Mindfulness, and Chi Kung--all science-based practices).

Click the tab at the top of the page "THE SCIENCE ON EDUCATION" to understand why no rational educator in the world would not readily embrace the GTP's goal--it will be a "no brainer" getting this into Public Education worldwide. Also learn why no rational government, police, prison official, TAXPAYER, or any rational person would not embrace it.

THERE IS NO ONE SINGLE ACTION WE COULD TAKE AS A GLOBAL SOCIETY THAT WOULD HAVE MORE POSITIVE SOCIAL, HEALTH, AND MONETARY BENEFIT TO US ALL ... THAN ENACTING THE GLOBAL TRANSFORMATION PROJECT's VISION--THIS UN RESOLUTION.

And we are NOT ALONE, see our growing list of distinguished Supporters in the fields of SCIENCE, HEALTHCARE & EDUCATION Professionals. Scroll down ...

SCIENCE: Dr. Peter Wayne

Peter Wayne, Ph.D., is the founder and director of the Tree of Life Tai Chi Center, in Boston, USA. He is also the Bernard Osher Associate Professor of Medicine in the Field of Complementary and Integrative Medical Therapies, Harvard Medical School (HMS) and Director for the Osher Center for Integrative Medicine, jointly based HMS and Brigham and Women’s Hospital.

The primary focus of Dr. Wayne’s research is evaluating how Tai Chi, Qigong, and related complementary and integrative therapies clinically impact aging and chronic health conditions,  and understanding the physiological and psychological mechanisms underlying observed therapeutic effects.

He has served as a principal or co-investigator on more than 25 NIH-funded studies and has authored more than 150 peer-reviewed articles.  Dr Wayne also has more than 40 years of training experience in Tai Chi and Qigong and is an internationally recognized teacher of these practices. He is author of the Harvard Medical School Guide to Tai Chi, which received an Award of Excellence in Medical Communication by the American Medical Writers Association.

SCIENCE: Dr. Roger Nelson

Roger Nelson, Ph.D. was Coordinator of Research at the Princeton Engineering Anomalies Research (PEAR) laboratory at Princeton University from 1980 to 2002, and has directed the Global Consciousness Project (GCP), since its inception in 1997.

Interests in psychology, physics, philosophy and the arts have given opportunities to collaborate with creative interdisciplinary teams at PEAR and elsewhere developing ways to study consciousness and intention.   Building on years of laboratory experiments, Roger began using random event generator (REG) technology in the field to study effects of special states of group consciousness.  This led naturally to the Global Consciousness Project (GCP), which is designed to register indications of a coalescing global consciousness responding to major world events such as 9/11, the beginnings of war, or New Year's Eve.  Speculative interpretations suggest that we may be looking at some form of consciousness field.

Dr. Nelson is the author of "Connected: The Emergence of Global Consciousness," and co-author of, “Die Welt-Kraft in Dir” (German language).

SCIENCE: Shin Lin, Ph.D.

Professor Shin Lin teaches cell biology, biomedical engineering, and integrative medicine at the School of Biological Sciences and is a member of the Susan Samueli Integrative Health Institute at the University of California, Irvine.  His Laboratory for Mind-Body Signaling and Energy Research (MindBodyLab.Bio.UCI.edu) uses hi-tech approaches to study the health benefits of Tai Chi, Qigong, and traditional Chinese medical therapies.  Among findings by his research team are: Tai Chi and Qigong practices increase blood flow measured with laser Doppler flowmetry, accompanied by a coordinated increase in electrical flow measured at acupuncture points; similar increases in blood flow are also produced by acupuncture, acupressure, moxibustion, and topical herbal medicine; application of electrical flow of physiological range to produce a D.C. electric field changes the cytoskeleton and consequently the directionality of the movement of cells grown in culture; electromyography shows that Tai Chi and Qigong movements are excellent exercises for muscle groups involved in fall prevention and in stretching for relief of back/shoulder/neck pain; meditation is a dual state of relaxed concentration shown by analysis of brain wave patterns, heart rate variability, and near infrared spectra; slow-deep breathing or pressure on relaxation acupoints can mitigate in real time the elevation of heart rate, blood pressure, and sympathetic function induced in the laboratory by stressful video games and movies.

Dr. Lin has a broad background and interests in the biological sciences (Ph.D. in Biological Chemistry from UCLA; postdoctoral studies in Biochemistry & Biophysics at University of California, San Francisco), Traditional Chinese Medicine (training in acupuncture for Physical Medicine at Hong Kong Polytechnic University), and Chen Style Tai Chi (In-door training with Grandmaster Chen Zhanglei of the Henan Chen Family Village).  He was formerly Chairman of Biophysics at Johns Hopkins University, Dean of the School of Biological Sciences and Associate Vice Chancellor for Biomedical Initiatives at University of California, Irvine, and a Visiting Professor at both Shanghai University of Traditional Chinese Medicine and Hong Kong City University. He held appointments to the National Advisory Council for Complementary Medicine and Integrative Health, as Chairman of a Think Tank on Biofield Medicine, and to a scientific advisory group on Non-Pharmacological Management of Pain and Stress in the Military, all at the National Institutes of Health of the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services.  He has authored over 200 scientific publications, served as a scientific advisor for the series of books published by the Shanghai University of Traditional Chinese Medicine on Traditional and Classical Chinese Health Cultivation, a member of the editorial board of Chinese Medicine, and is presently on the editorial board of Journal of Integrative and Complementary Medicine.

Meditative movement as a category of exercise: implications for research, (NIH)

https://pubmed.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/19420401/

"The human body creates self regulatory factors that keep us well. These are functionally generated healing resources – nutrition, exercise, sleep, hydration, stress mastery, etc. Each of these requires choice. Mind-Body Practice empowers choice making. As a doctor of Chinese medicine with 40 years of clinical practice, following 40 years of clinical practice, having been involved in numerous research projects and with 10 research trips to China, I am sure that health education (health maximization) is far superior to medical intervention (disease treatment). Such education should begin at home, of course, but most adults in the contemporary world are not health educated. Educating and inspiring children regarding health sustainability is the solution. I can think of no more powerful way to expedite Mind Body's powerful benefits for health and consciousness than to expand its use as a core part of Public Education worldwide, via a UN Resolution advocating Mind Body Education to public educators worldwide--the goal of the GTP."

-- Dr. Roger Jahnke

EDUCATION: Dr. Christine Rhoads

Dr. Rhoads is a professor in the College of Business at Kutztown University (Doctorate in Educational Technology), and Founder of HPL Consortium. "My decades of teaching students of all ages Mind Body, in age-appropriate ways, has shown me that students embrace Mind Body Education quite naturally. And as a Mind Body author and media source over 30 years, I found that when you look at the mounting science from the past 30 years--it becomes so obviously apparent that Mind Body Education should have become a core part of Public Education a long long time ago. I can think of no single action we could take as a nation or human race that would more profoundly improve global society and our economy than the UN Resolution goal of the Global Transformation Project."

HEALTHCARE: Clara Apollo, R.G.N.

UK HEALTH RADIO’s Clara Apollo, curates and co-presents the weekly ‘Chi Time’ program, alongside her ‘Chi Time TV’ Youtube channel and ‘Chi Time’ podcast.  Clara is an Elemental Qigong teacher trainer and co-founder of ‘OneQi’ a hub for Qigong Teachers. Her Mind Body Education path started as a nurse within the UK’s National Health Service (NHS) and eventually was led outside this system to find more effective Mind Body solutions and her life-purpose career opened up.

Clara trained as a Registered Nurse in Oxford at the John Radcliffe Hospital from 1979 – 1982, becoming a staff nurse on a Lung Disease ward at the Churchill Hospital from 1982-83. During that time she gained a wider understanding of the organization of the NHS (UK National Health System) and realized her core desire was to be involved in ‘preventative healthcare,’ rather than ‘symptomatic disease management.’

Not long after the birth of her son, Clara began to suffer severe RSI tenosynovitis in both forearms which became debilitating. Her doctor offered steroid injections for the pain, which she refused, searching for more holistic ways to treat the condition. The doctor referred her to a physiotherapist in the NHS who did Western acupuncture, the positive effects of which spurred her to begin researching Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM).

Her TCM journey led through various natural holistic therapies which culminated in Clara becoming an Elemental Qigong practitioner and subsequently a teacher - since 2000 - of this ancient Chinese Health Art and Science. Her broadcasting life began in 2010 when asked to introduce listeners to Qigong on community radio. Getting her own weekly show ‘Chi Time’ in 2012 eventually led to her become part of the international UK HEALTH RADIO focusing on Mind Body solutions for modern health disorders.

“My early nursing career, and own health challenges, and subsequent healing, showed me that Mind Body holistic preventative practices are primary to having a life we can love living. We could be saving ourselves vast amounts in healthcare costs by continuing to educate ourselves and our fellow citizens in intelligent Mind Body practices. What led me to the Global Transformation Project was the realization that making science-based Mind Body Education a core part of Public Education worldwide could be the key solution to our ongoing global healthcare and economic crisis. And, when you look at the health and educational benefits of Mind Body practices on helping create more intelligent, creative, less troubled individuals as well as students who can read and perform mathematics at higher levels when using Mind Body Education, it seems so odd this has not happened already.”

-- Clara Apollo, R.G.N.

INTERNATIONAL MEDIA ON GLOBAL TRANSFORMATION PROJECT

UK HEALTH RADIO Network discusses the INCREDIBLE PROMISE of the Global Transformation Project

INTERVIEW EXCERPT ... from CONCLUSION OF INTERVIEW ...

Global Transformation Project Founder:

"There's just endless reasons why this should be part of Public Education because it makes smarter students and once we get it into a UN Resolution, and get it out to Public Education around the world, we're talking about 100s of millions of new meditators. And we know that a mind going into a coherent state of consciousness has a healing effect beyond that meditator, I have tons of research validating everything I am saying here ... and so we're talking about global transformation in a very real way and we could ALL be a part of this. This doable, we can really do this! This is really within our grasp!"

UK HEALTH RADIO HOST (Clara Apollo, "Chi Time" Program):

"Honestly Bill, I'm having all the shivers here in such a beautiful way when you said those words it's like you're speaking a total truth. This is what it's really about--The Global Transformation Project. This is our opportunity at this time 2022, here we grow! We can do this. And the work [science] that you're bringing through to back up what we can experience we can help other people to understand why it's interesting for them to look at this as well."

COVID 19 RESEARCH and MIND BODY IMMUNITY

COVID 19 and CD4+ / T CELLS    (Scroll down for Mind Body on T Cells / CD4+ Cells)

A STUDY revealed that front line healthcare workers who had elevated T Cell / CD 4 Cell counts were profoundly less likely to contract COVID 19 than their peers who had lower cell levels.

Can people be naturally immune or resistant to COVID-19?

Yahoo News, April 26, 2022

The study evaluated a group of U.K. health care workers during the first wave of the pandemic who were exposed to the virus but didn’t develop COVID-19. Researchers found that the presence of cross-reactive memory T cells among some of the participants contributed to “the rapid clearance of SARS-CoV-2 and other coronavirus infections.”

Pre-Existing T Cells Play Key Role in SARS-CoV-2 Infection and Vaccination

The researchers identified a peptide (S816-830) in the SARS-CoV-2 spike protein that CD4+ T cells in all groups—even those unexposed to SARS-CoV-2—recognized. The S816-830 protein was recognized by CD4+ T cells in 20% of unexposed individuals, in over 50% of SARS-CoV-2 convalescents, and in 97% of subjects treated with the Pfizer-BioNTech COVID-19 vaccine.

TAI CHI BOOSTS BODY'S CD4+ PRODUCTION ...

Effect of Tai Chi Exercise on Immune Function in Middle-aged and Elderly Women

FINDING: Effect of Tai Chi Exercise on Immune Function in Middle-aged and Elderly Women. J Sports Med Doping Stud 2:119. doi:10.4172/2161-0673.1000119Page 5 of 7Discussion human immune system demonstrates degenerative changes with advancing age [17], especially T cells which demonstrate prominent age-related alterations in distribution and function, such as declined number of circulating cells, NKT cells, and DCs, decreased production of 1 cytokines (IFN-γ) and increased production of 2 cytokines (IL-4) with aging [2,4,3]. However, the findings of our present study demonstrated that after a 6-month TC exercise program, the percentages of CD4+ T lymphocytes, NK cells, NKT cells, and DCs, along with the CD4+:CD8+ ratio and cytokines IFN-γ and IL-4 producing T cells, significantly increased in middle-aged and elderly women

Effect of Integrated Yoga (IY) on psychological states and CD4 counts of HIV-1 infected patients: A randomized controlled pilot study

Results: Within group comparison showed a significant reduction in depression scores (F [1, 21] =4.19, P < 0.05) and non-significant reduction in anxiety scores along with non significant increment in CD4 counts in the yoga group. In the control group, there was a non-significant increase in anxiety and depression scores and reduction in CD4 counts. Between-group comparison revealed a significant reduction in depression scores (F [1, 21] =5.64, P < 0.05) and significant increase in CD4 counts (F [1, 21] =5.35, P < 0.05) in the yoga group as compared to the control.

Conclusion: One month practice of IY may reduce depression and improve immunity in HIV-1 infected adults.

Meditation done at an intense level may bring a significant boost to the inner workings of your immune system.

The finding follows a blood sample analysis that took pre- and post-meditation snapshots of genetic activity among more than 100 men and women.  That analysis suggested that meditation boosted the activity of hundreds of genes known to be directly involved in regulating immune response.

The result: Three months after the retreat's conclusion, Chandran and his colleagues found an uptick in activity involving 220 immune-related genes, including 68 genes engaged in so-called "interferon signaling."

Yoga into Cancer Care: A Review of the Evidence-based Research

An impaired immune system may facilitate tumor development.[178,181,182,183,184,185] Several studies have shown that yoga reduces stress, depression, and anxiety, changes cellular milieu by genomic alteration, and enhances cellular immunity.[186,187] It is therefore very likely that yoga could prevent tumorigenesis and progression and possibly help cure cancer. Interestingly, a number of case reports from Meares demonstrated that the practice of yoga/meditation was able to regress the growth of tumors.[188,189,190,191] The above findings suggest that yoga may help prevent tumorigenesis and progression and ultimately cure cancer. Of course, well-designed studies are needed to examine this hypothesis.

Co-Founder, Clara Apollo, R.G.N.
